Book Clubs & Writers' Groups Career & Job Search Toronto local history collections are provided in more than 30 branches of the Toronto Public Library. The collections include materials of historical significance about a specific geographic area. and adult independent learners, including newcomers, long-time residents and visitors. The Literacy Action Center (LAC) provides basic literacy education for adults. This literacy education: enhances the individual's quality of life; is free, effective, and confidential; and is delivered by a combination of professional staff and volunteer tutors. We specialize in helping adults who are reading below a fifth grade level when they enter our program.

Services for Older Adults at BPL offers inclusive programming and services tailored to our patrons over the age of 50, including lectures, films, performances and educational programs that reflect the wide interests of today’s older adults. Multi-session art workshops for patrons ages 50 and older, led by a professional teaching artist. The Office of Student Services focuses on helping students understand their learning differences and develop skills and compensatory strategies in order to become independent learners. We strive to bring together cooperative relationships, respect for individual differences, and the maintenance of a purposeful and rigorous academic program into.
